please check out this project on soundcloud. it has been set up by students and is really interesting.
field recordings of urban environments are being uploaded for people to download and make into tracks. there are some tracks that were made by the people who set up the project. 'stepmosh' reeks of 2-step meets early 90s autechre and was made entirely from sounds recorded around southampton (uk).
please get involved and follow if you have a soundcloud account. new content such as loops and samples are being added daily and everyone is welcome to take them and make them into something fresh, then upload them back onto the page via the dropbox.
techniques such as microsound, generative music and granular synthesis are being explored, but you are welcome to take any approach you like.
